- The role of agroforestry was contributed in the rural development. The phenomenon of community who utilize areas with steep topography to fiil the basic necessity be avoid. Ecologically, the implementation agroforestry systems increase soil and water conservation areas. The purpose of this research to determine the characteristics of agroforestry on the type of prone landslide area in the Village Pagerharjo and assess the agroforestry system. The research was begun by observation field, until produce three diferent elevation zone . Data were collected at 27 sample plots research representing 3 different elevation zone. In each zone there was a Low Prone Landslides areas (RL 1), Medium Prone Landslide (RL 2), High Prone Landslide (RL 3) . Sample plots have a measurent of 20 meter x 20 meter. Data was collected by census measure method for woody plants and observation for agricultural plant. Analysis of the data include: basal area of woody plants per hectare (ha), the value of Importance Value Index (INP) and the Shannon diversity index and was assisted by Explicit Individual- Based Spatial Forest Simulator (SexI_FS) to determine Canopy Openness (CO) value and spatial visualization. The results of this research show that the agroforestry type which found in the Pagerharjo village tend Random Mixture. In first zone, the characteristics of agroforestry leads to intensive cultivation of agricultural plant. In second and third Zones for RL 1 and 2, the characteristics of agroforestry leads to intensive cultivation woody plant . Type of high prone landslide areas (RL 3) in second zona leads intensive cultivation of agricultural plants, while the third Zones tend to be dominated woody plants with non intensive cultivation.
