  • In this research, magnetite (Fe3O4) was coated with silica modified amino using sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) solution extracted from rice husk ash as the silica source and 3-aminopropiltrimethoxysilane (APTMS) as the amino source. Magnetite was synthesized through a coprecipitation method, a Fe2+/Fe3+ salt mixture reacted with NH4OH as precipitating agent. The aging influence of magnetite solution on crystallinity was also investigated. Coating was done through sol-gel process, magnetite was mixed with sodium silicate and APTMS at various mole ratio
