- The main purpose of this study is to explain the meaning of cherry blossom within the three of AKB48�s song lyrics. The song lyrics used in this study are Sakura no Hanabiratachi 2008, Juunen Zakura, and Sakura no Shiori. These song lyrics are choosen by their similarity of the use of cherry blossoms words within the lyrics. It is possible to examine the song lyrics as a piece of literature, because of the same poetic characteristic within the song lyrics. The Riffaterre�s Theory of Semiotics is applied in this study and data analysis performed through four sistematic steps. Those steps are analyzing the indirect expression
