- Sesame is a high qualifying food crop which easy to be cultivated. However, the low productivity and competitiveness of sesame makes sesame grown in unfertile land, such as sandy coastal area. The aim of this study is to determine the types and dosages of nitrogen fertilizer which is appropriate to sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) in sandy coastal area in order to increase sesame yield. The research is conducted in April 2013 to July 2013 in polybag at Pandan Sari Beach, Bantul, whereas growth analysis is carried out at the Laboratory of Plant Science, Department of Agriculture Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta. This research which consist of 3 x 4 factorial and 1 control was arranged in Randomized Complete Block Design with 4 replications as blocks. The first factor is types of nitrogen fertilizer which are nitrogen fertilizer in the form of ordinary urea, nitrogen encapsulated in resin, and nitrogen encapsulated in acetaldehyde.
