  • This study aims to determine the effect of red tilapia Cangkringan strain and their parents spawning speed, fecundity, fertility and hatching rate. This research used completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments with each treatment consisted of 10 replicates for spawning and hatching as many as 3 replication. Treatment consisted of Cangkringan strain and their parents include Citralada strain, Filiphina, Nifi and Singapura. The research was conducted at Unit Kerja Balai Air Tawar (UKBAT) Cangkrinan for 100 days. Spawning using hapa measuring 2Ã�1Ã�1 m 3 of 50 placed on permanent pond seizing of 1000 m 2 . Brooder used weight of 180-260 grams for females and males about 250-360 gram. Male and female ratio 1:1 (1 male: 1 female). Brooder given pellet T781 in edequate quantity. Spawning lasted for 14 days with sampling performed every harvest egg. Parameters include spawning rate, fecundity, fertility, hatching rate and all those were analyzed use analyzing of variance with confidence level of 95 %, while the water quality of spawning or incubation were analyzed descriptively. Result of analyzing of variance to variable speed spawning, fecundity, fertility of red tilapia Cangkringan strain with their parents showed no significant difference (P>0,005) between treatment. Result of analyzing of variance to variable hatching rate showed significant difference (P<0,05) between treatment indicated Cangkringan strain has higher than others strain, but lower than Nifi strain. The result showed that based on reproduction characters red tilapia Cangkringan strain tent to be better than their parents.
