  • Trade, hotel, and restaurant industry is the second largest industry in Indonesia, which continues to grow each year. A restaurant must have a good performance in order to survive and continue to thrive in the midst of intense competition. One way to maximize the performance of a restaurant is to set the layout properly. A good layout contributes to whole companyâ��s operations efficiency and it can also reduce up to 50% of total operating expenses. This research was conducted in Rumah Makan Ayam Gepuk Eco Raos at Jalan Singosari Raya No. 31, Semarang. It aims to identify the status of efficiency of the work station layout and also to design a layout of work stations that can improve the efficiency in the production process by using the load-distance method. The analysis shows that the efficiency of work stations layout in Rumah Makan Ayam Gepuk Eco Raos can still be improved by moving one work station, which is called as work station C, according to the proposed alternative plan.
