- This research was aimed to reveal the psychological condition of the main character in novel á ̧¤ikÄ�yatu Zahrah and how the main character solved psychological pressure that had happened to him. This research used structural theory and psychological theory of literature with psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud. Besides that, this research used structural method and psychological literature method. The result of analysis using structural method, could be concluded that the main character of the novel was Zahrah. Meanwhile, the result of analysis using psychological literature method, could be concluded that there were seven events containing psychological pressure on Zahrah there are, Zahrahâ��s fears as a mistreatment from her parents, intercourse between Zahrah and MÄ�lik, Zahra's father requests to marry with SamÄ«r, HÄ�syimâ��s harassment to Zahrah, Zahrah and MÄ�jidâ��s marriage, Zahrah and MÄ�jidâ��s divorce, and Zahrah and sharpshooterâ��s love. The psychological pressures researched, were taken based on the events in which any conflicts between id, ego, and superego in Zahrah. The various mechanisms of ego defenses used were used by Zahrah to resolve the problem in her life, such as identification, repression, escaping-avoiding, rasionalization, and displacement
