  • This writing seeks to test the development of EU supranational character through its mechanism to handle Greece economic crisis. There are limitations for EU supranational domain to work alone managing the crisis. Subsequently, it turns into one of the hindrances that deter EU supranational development. The implication of the mechanism to handle Greece crisis exposes that EU dynamic is actually a combined mechanism between supranational and intergovernmental. The EU character lies in between the supranational-intergovernmental domain. It has multilevel character of interactions of which a sole intergovernmental or supranational explanation might not be adequate to explain. Governance defines the interactions and eventually shapes EU character through the multilevel character and governing conduct of its dynamics. Multilevel governance acts as an umbrella for both of supranational-intergovernmental interactions. It also provides network to connect both mechanisms under a single EU mechanism. Finally, multilevel governance scheme to handle Greece crisis highlights that supranational is actually one of the levels within the dynamics of European Union economic governance scheme.
