- Copyright as an exclusive right that is owned by a creator has been legalized by Law Number 19 year 2002 on Copyright. Copyright contained implementation of the various problems associated with copyright violations such as software piracy. Actually, software piracy in Indonesia is currently at an alarming rate . There are several reasons rampant software piracy in Indonesia, namely many Indonesian people not ready to accept IP rights, software piracy has become commonplace in Indonesia and are generally done without feeling guilty . These problems are caused by the lack of public awareness of the values and intellectual property rights contained in any software used. This research aimed to determine the development of cases of software piracy (software) in Indonesia and the mechanism for resolving cases of software piracy (software) in Indonesia. The data used in this study is primary data and secondary data. The data were collected through field research and literature. Based on research of the problems of software piracy review Copyright Law, it can be concluded that, first, the development of case management software piracy Indonesia is very low numbers that not comparable with the report of the Business Software Alliance (BSA) ranks Indonesia asstate actors 12 world's highest software piracy, and secondly, software piracy settlement mechanism soft in Indonesia can be do new it h two method sor mechanisms, ie normatively first performed pursuant to Article 72 paragraph (3) of the Copyright Act, and secondly, the alternative is do net hrough preventive activities to prevent software piracy.
