- Pengosekan village is one of traditional villages in Ubud, that some of its villager still have profession as traditional painter. The interesting point of Pengosekan traditional painting is on its artistic value, from every painting theme. The development of Pengosekan traditional painting had experienced its up and down position, associated with some events such as the Bali Bombing I and II, and the development of modern painting ini Bali. This study aims to reveal the continuity of Pengosekan traditional painting, and knowing the factors that influence change of its work visualization. Therefore, the methods used in this research is literature study, field observation, interview, and documentation. The data obtained will were analyzed using qualitative data analysis. The approach used to discuss the continuity of Pengosekan traditional painting, and the change of its work visualization is aesthetic approach. This approach is assisted by the approach of other sciences, such as anthropology, history, and sociology. The change in the work visualization is analyzed based on its color, shape, line, space, composition, lighting, and technique. The factors that cause the occurrence of continuity and change, are analyzed from internal and eksternal term. The impacts which are analized include the economical, social, and cultural impact. The result shows that Pengosekan traditional painting is still being processed continuously by the painter in Pengosekan, since 1980 until 2013. The continuity which is occured is accompanied by the changes in term of object, color, shape, composition, space, and technique. The changes which is occured cannot be separated from the internal and external factor. The internal factor is derived from the painter's desire to always improve the quality of his work, with creative and innovative way. The external factor is derived from the environment which gives a lot of inspiration, the expertise of formal and non-formal education, the development of modern painting in Bali, technology and information media, and tourism. The existence of Pengosekan traditional painting has impact on the increasing level of the economy. Children who learn traditional painting will also be educated to be discipline and appreciate the time.
