  • Islamic Boarding school is one of the educational institutions which currently a lot of attention among the general public, both among the middle class, as well as the community, is now boarding Jamiyah Islamiyah has won the trust of both the public and has proven to produce a lot of student who have served the community. The role of the Islamic boarding school has also given direction and purpose for each individual students, in achieving its goals and can build their lives in the face of various challenges and threats to juvenile delinquency, and even has managed to prove itself to be students of character and akhlaqul karimah. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the role of Islamic boarding school in building the character of young people and the implications for personal resilience (2) To what extent can the boarding chool increase its role in character building of young generation to support personal resilience (3) Optimization of in building the character of young people to support personal resilience. His study uses qualitative and quantitative methods and analysis that promotes written text. Researech data obtained from primery data and secondary data. Primary data obtained from the observations, interviews with caregivers boarding school, from the principal, while the the secondary data obtained from literature data and documention. The finding of this study that (1) the role of boarding school in building the character of young students in order to support personal resilience is not maximixed (2) On the other hand the role of bording school in building the character of young people has been proven, in favor of personal security of students (3) Implementation of youth character building personal resilience to support students, is running as it should, but need intensive optimization and the cooperation of all elements of education, students are expected to have a strong resistance, in the face of threats come from within and from outside himself, and the school does resistance can be realized.
