- The research on social dominance and ethnic conflict in thesis entitled �Social Dominance in Novel La Nuit by Elie Wiesel� taken from a famous novel entitled La Nuit (1958) which tells the colonialism by Nazi which lead by a prominent fascist, Adolf Hitler against the Jews in Europe during World War II. Problems found here are how the depiction of social dominance that occurs between the Nazis and the Jews, which Nazi as the dominant and Jews as the dominated. In addition ethnic conflict is also described here. The conflict is not only different ethnic, but also intra-ethnic. The power has great influence here. To analyze the novel La Nuit, the researcher uses the theory of Jim Sidanius called Social Dominance Theory. A theory which divides social dominance in 3 different systems
