- Wirotho Agung is the capital district of Rimbo Bujang, as the location of transmigration, this village has a heterogeneous community with different cultural characteristics, but togetherness is still indicated. It can be seen from the dwelling mingling and lack of conflict in society. The social life in Wirotho Agung interesting to be reviewed because of it shows efficacy in eliminate the differences in their community. This research is about \"Social Institutions of Heterogeneous Society in Urban Communities in Wirotho Agung Rimbo Bujang District Tebo Regency \". The aims of this research are (1) to determine the social patterns that form in the society (2) to identify the workings of Social Institutions, (3) to find the factors that determines the successfull of Social Institutions in Wirotho Agung in eliminate the differences in their community. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method as a continuation of the phenomenology paradigm. The location of the study is in Wirotho Agung, Rimbo Bujang District, Tebo Regency, Jambi Province. The result implies that: (1) there is some social process that take place in Wirotho Agung such as: high tolerance between custom communities and immigrant, the cultural assimilation, the strong culture of mutual assistance in the community, the existence of non-government in development. (2) each social institutions work and perform their functions properly. Social institutions who have an important role is Government in Wirotho Agung and custom institutions Jambi Malay (3) the factors that determines the success of social institutions such as: the condition of Wirotho Agung community is still easily manageable, good relationships between each other, and the strict role of custom institutions Jambi Malay.
