- Background : An outbreak still remains health society problem because it can cause huge mortality and morbidity rate. Hepatitis A is one of the disease that frequently erupted in Indonesia and evoked an outbreak. After 2008, the outbreak of Hepatitis A turned to spread in DIY, mostly in district of Sleman. Researcher examined how is the management of Hepatitis A outbreak that emerged in district of Sleman in 2013. Objective : Evaluate how is the management of Hepatitis A outbreak that emerged in district of Sleman in 2013. Methods : This study is a kind of qualitative study with etnometodology method of approach. There are 2 kinds of data. Primary data were obtained from in-depth interview while secondary data were obtained from notes that were made when epidemiologic investigation and observation held. Those data were gotten from Department of Health in district of Sleman. Result : Most patients were male, college students, aged 20-44 years old and lived in sub-district of Depok. First step was conducting meeting for coordination. The next step was epidemiological investigation then took sample from the food stall that frequently visited by patients and then performed chlorination toward water source on that place. The last action were socialization and education toward society and owner of food stall to be alert on incident Hepatitis A. Case reporting performed by hospital every 3 days sent to Departement of Health in district of Sleman. After those series of actions, the amount of Hepatitis A case decreased. Conclusion : The series of action that performed by team effectively decreased the increasing cases of Hepatitis A.
