- Background: Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) has been one of the world�s major health concern, commonly caused by Aedes aegypti bites. One of the most common methods for vector control is electric liquid vaporizer. Basic compounds which are less toxic to humans and less resistance producing to mosquitoes, such as citronella 100% pure essential oil (Cymbopogon nardus), are preffered. Objective: To explore the effectiveness of citronella 100% pure essential oil (Cymbopogon nardus) as the basic compound of electric mosquito liquid vaporizer towards the mortality of adult Aedes aegypti. Methods: The research subjects were Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, aged 2-5 days, divided into: group A (negative control), group B (citronella oil), and group C (positive control). Twenty-five mosquitoes were put in a 18m3 room exposed with electric liquid vaporizer based on the treatment groups. Knockdown time (KT1, KT50, KT95, KT100) and 24-hours mortality were observed in 3 times replication. Results: The results showed that from group A, knockdown time were not obtained
