  • This research applying the concept of the use of fibers in concrete mix. Utilization of coconut fiber as a mixture of plate concrete and the effect of addition coconut fibers in the concrete. Manufacture of plate concrete and mix concrete cylinders using a mixture of cement, sand, gravel, and coconut fiber with proportion of 0.25%, 1.5%, 3% weight of cement for plate concrete and 0.25%, 0.5%, 1%, 2% , 3% for concrete cylinder. The purpose of the research to know the benefits of a plate and concrete cylinders with a mixture of coconut fiber. Workability in fresh concrete was tested by slump test and VB-Time. Specimen in the form of a plate with dimensions of 80 cm x 60 cm with thickness variation of 2 cm, 3 cm and 4 cm and cylinders with height of 30cm and diameter 15 cm. After reaching the age of 28 it was, tested by point loads using hydraulic jacks to the roof plate bending test and compressive strength test for cylinders concrete. The addition of coconut fiber increase the flexural strength, compressive strength and tensile strength. Plate with 2 cm thickness and 3 % coconut fiber had 60% greater compared with normal concrete or 0 % fiber. While compressive strength of 1 % reached 23 % greater compared with normal concrete and 11,86 % for tensile of 0,25 %.
