- Beckground: Shisha increasingly widespread in Yogyakarta. The knowledge and perception of medical students toward issues in public will influence their health service that to response issues challege in public. Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge and perception of undergraduate students toward shisha at the Faculty of Medicine Gadjah Mada University. Metode: The cross-sectional study was undertaken in 3 study program in FK- UGM on September-October 2013. The responden were 72 nursing student, 74 dietition student dan 258 doctor student. The data were collected by knowledge and perception questionnaires. Mann-Whitney U-test analysis use to assess the knowledge and the perception were analyzed using t-test. Result: The knowledge toward shisha of the student was mostly rated as less category, while perceptions toward shisha was rated as moderate category.
