- Studies were carried out to analyze the heat transfer, which occurs within Passive Compact Molten Salt Reactor (PCMSR) fuel duct. The research aims to estimate the Nusselt number of the system in both case of laminar regime and turbulent regime based on numerical calculation. Simplifications had been made to conduct the research, but the case remains complex though. In the case of laminar flow, both analytical solution and numerical solution had been acquired. A general solution was obtained during the process and is ready to be used for more general purposes. The numerical solution of the case was acquired using Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) finite volume software, by varying the number of grids. In the case of turbulent flow, only numerical method is considered. Two correlations by means of turbulent Prandtl number, namely correlation of Reynolds and correlation of Kays, were carried out to conduct the simulation. The simulation was conducted using spreadsheet software by varying the number of grids. A verified Nusselt number of 5.99, with discrepancy of 2.6 x 10-4 % and uncertainty of 1.6 x 10-4 %, had been obtained as a result of laminar case simulation. Based on correlation of Reynolds, the simulation resulting a verified Nusselt number of 451, with adequately high discrepancy of 16.60 % and low uncertainty of 2.4 x 10-3 %. Based on correlation of Kays, the simulation resulting a verified Nusselt number of 392, with discrepancy of 0.48 % and uncertainty of 1.7 x 10-3 %.
