  • Curcumin is a compound has the effect of anti- inflammatory. One of derivative of curcumin is GVT- 0 known to have effect of anti- inflammatory and higher stability. However, both the compound hard soluble in water that causes bioavailability in the body low. To resolve the issue carried out nanoparticle formulation to increase the number and absorption rate the compound so that can improve the bioavailability and effectiveness of pharmacological. This research was conducted by doing formulation of chitosan nanoparticles with curcumin and GVT- 0 using the ionic gelation at pH 4. Furthermore, curcumin and GVT- 0 before and after the nanoparticle formulation tested anti- inflammatory using the female rats Wistar for 6 hours. Obtained data in the form of the volume of edema, AUC curve edema, and percentage of power anti- inflammatory(% DAI). Then compared to power anti- inflammatory between curcumin and GVT- 0. From the results of research is known that the nanoparticle formulation can increase effectiveness of power anti- inflammatory curcumin and GVT- 0 on the dose of the provision of 10 mg/ kg but in curcumin and GVT- 0 5 mg/ kg power anti- inflammatory not significantly increased. Comparison of the overall on the test compound shows the provision of GVT- 0 has a percentage of power anti- inflammatory a larger than curcumin. However, from the test results statistics with Mann Whitney known nanoparticles GVT- 0 has the effectiveness of power anti- inflammatory a higher than the nanoparticles of curcuminsignificantly( p<0, 05) in the dose of the provision of 10 mg/ kg while the nanoparticles GVT- 0 5 mg/ kg have the effectiveness of power anti- inflammatory that did not differ significantly( p>0, 05) with nanoparticles of curcumin 5 mg/ kg.
