  • This research aim to know survival rate and growth red tilapia (Oreochromis sp.) Cangkringan strain at grow out phase. The research used eksperimental method with random designs 2 x 3, replicate two times. The research was conducted in Unit Kerja Budidaya Air Tawar (UKBAT) Cangkringan for 120 days using the fry size of 12 â15 cm. The culture carried in pond (2x1x1 m) with stocking densities 5 fry/m3, 10 fry/m3, 15 fry/m3. Water debit 0,08 L/s. Floating feed which contains 30-32 % protein, were given 3 â 5 % of biomass/day at the rate of three times a day. Fish sampling was done every two weeks as much as 20 % of biomass to measure length and weight of the fish as well as water quality monitoring, and the biomass parameters were total weight, total fish at the beginning and the end of experiment. Data of survival rate, absolute length and weight, specific growth rate, food convention ratio were analyzed with analisys of variance at 95 % level of significant, and water quality was analized descriptively. This results showed that the combination of strain with sex in strain influence the growth of red tilapia Cangkringan strain, but not influence the survival rate. Survival rate of red tilapia at grow out phase ranged from 75 to 90%. Average value of absolute growth length and weight ranged from 7.92 to 12 cm and 148.76 â 284.66 grams. Specific growth rate of length and weight ranged from 0.03 to 0.05 %/day and 0.10 to 0.13 %/day. Densities, sex, influence survival rate and growth. At stocking densities 5 fry/m3 the survival rate and growth of male red tilapia are better than felame red tilapia.
