- Ostrinia furnacalis Guenée (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) is an important pest on corn. Basic research related to the biology of O. furnacalis, such as oviposition behaviour is limited. The objectives of this study were to determine the oviposition time and the effect of photoperiod on egg hatching. O. furnacalis used in this study was obtained from the laboratory-adapted population reared using artificial diet since 2009 in the Laboratory of Pesticide Toxicology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Gadjah Mada.
