- Land owner deliberacy on determining composition and planting pattern in community forest has created various species composition and vegetation structure. Variation of species composition and vegetation structure in community forest could influence vertical space use of crops by birds. The objective of this research is to understand the utilization of the vertical strata by bird communitis on various plantation type in Menoreh Hill community forest. Research sampling collection was based on the community forest�s two watershed areas. Data was collected using point count method to show the birds population and scan sampling method was used to observe the birds� behaviour. Habitat data collection used nested sampling and protocol sampling on at least one hundred plots, that were systematically located at every sub watershed. Three plots of profile chart was used to know the vegetation structure at every plantation type that will be analysed by SexI-FS 2.1.0 software. The Important Value Index was used to each vegetation community and birds to observe each species� potential role. Biodiversity was measured using the Shannon-Wiener index. The Kruskal Wallis different test on SPSS 17.0 software was used, using temperature, moisture, and crown density variable in every plantation pattern. The result shows that Menoreh Hill community forest has three type of plantation pattern
