  • Water balance calculation is very useful in the development of water resources, not only for economic appraisal but also for checking the reliability and availability of water from month to month. The research area is 22.7 square km, located in Soka watershed which is a groundwater recharge area, so it takes water balance approach to provide better water resources management at Soka watershed. The study was conducted by collecting and analyzing the data of geology, climatology, and hydrology. Geological data such as lithology, soil, and geomorphology. Hydrological data such as measurements of runoff, baseflow, and spring discharge. Climatological data such as rainfall and evapotranspiration. Water balance calculation reveals that, precipitation are 2905 mm/year, infiltration that comes into Soka watershed are 1928 mm/year, real evapotranspiration are 919 mm/year, baseflow runoff are 120 mm/year, runoff are 115 mm/year, spring rate are 540 mm/year, and the dynamic groundwaterflow are 1269 mm/year. Water infiltration occurs in pyroclastic breccia and laharic breccia in Soka watershed, it have a porosity and permeable. On andesite lava, rain water that comes will not infiltrate but turn into runoff due to massive condition and impermeable. At pyroclastic breccia and laharic breccia rain water does not fully infiltrate, a small portion of water also continue to runoff.
