- Fanfiction is one of the creations made by fans to show their love to the idols. One of the interesting genres is slash fanfiction, emphasizing homosexuality as the main theme. Slash fan fiction is very popular among the K-POP fandom all over the world, unexceptionally in Indonesia. For Indonesians, homosexuality theme is considered taboo in the society. Its existence is no longer a controversy, but categorized as something that is left neglected and unspoken. Here lies the culture contradiction between homoerotic text in slash fanfiction and the implemented moral value in Indonesians society. Audience reception analysis is a study about reception of audiences about media text. This research observes the process of audiences� reception about homoerotic text in slash fanfiction. The highlighted dynamics is the internal conflict from the audiences while they absorb the content that is actually inappropriate with the value implemented in their socio-cultural environment. This research scrutinizes how far audiences� reception of homoerotic text in slash fanfiction.
