  • and The rapid population growth rate the development of new infrastructures in the Karanganyar subdistrict will increase the utilization and the management of land. It also led to changes in land use as an important part of spatial utilization. These conditions are likely to continue reckon the very limited availability of land and the narrower extent, although there has been a spatial plan as a guide to use and spatial control. Dynamics of changes in land use in the subdistrict of Karanganyar can not be separated from the impact of population growth and economic areas such as industry, commerce and services. In this evaluation of a land use based on spatial plan uses some data such as the data of land use until November 2012 that were obtained from field observations, spatial plan maps from 2010 to 2030 were obtained from Bappeda Karanganyar, Karanganyar administrative maps obtained from the Land Office of Karanganyar subdistrict, and Ikonos imagery obtained from the relevant authorities. This activities carried out in the scope of Karanganyar Subdistrict using overlay technique between the land use map with the map of spatial plan, while the analysis was conducted using descriptive analysis. The results of this applicative activity are from 10 types of existing land use is dominated by agricultural land, lea land and residential land. In terms of changes of suitability with the spatial plan, in general they are still in accordance with the spatial plan that is equal to 68.763%, for the land use that supports spatial plan is equal to 6.649%, while for the land use which is not in accordance with the Spatial amounted to 24.586%, This means that the land use that occurred until November of 2012 partially meets the criteria which are appropriate and supportive, but there are still not in accordance with the spatial plan.
