- Gamelan is one of musical instrument that well-known as one of the culture that we had in Indonesia. In this case, globalization also takes a significant part in the development of gamelan itself. The influence of globalization in gamelan creates an issue in gamelan, is it change or still sticks on the �old� culture. Not only that, gamelan nowadays also developed in other countries. Because of this, it creates a relation between Indonesia and other countries and in this case it represent by Yogyakarta Gamelan Festival. These are interesting parts of this research that we have to look deeper. This research is also try to remain us that gamelan is important part of Indonesian culture. This research takes a several locations that become a sample to find out more about gamelan. Gayam16 become the house that living up the Yogyakarta Gamelan Festival, and it�s located in Gayam Street. Freiburg and Trossingen, Germany and also Basel, Switzerland are other locations that also become location of the research, for gamelan group in outside of Indonesia.
