- This research paper purpose is to find Abdullah bin Abdul Kadir Munsyi�s stereotypical and ambivalence attitude towards Malays in his work Kisah Pelayaran Abdullah bin Abdul Kadir Munsyi dari Singapura sampai ke Kelantan. Also, it is expected that through this paper, people will be more aware and appreciate classic literature works, especially Malays Classic Literature. The conclusion of this paper is the 14 forms of stereotype by Abdullah. He mention stereotypes such as the stereotype of Malays� physical appearance, the unhygienic habits, their sloth custom, often commit fraud, spoke slander, uncivilized behavior, and irrational culture. On the contrary, his ambivalence showed by his attention towards Malays� problem, his love of their language, and some other expression that clearly shows his affection towards them.
