  • This thesis focuses on the analysis of the relationship between a subordinative clause and supraordinative clause forming Arabic compound sentence. The study was conducted in an effort to unravel the functions and categories of subordinative clause in sentence, varies and syntactic behavior of subordinative conjunctions that connect the two clauses, and sequence pattern in composition of the two clauses in the sentence. The approach used in this study is the syntaxis structural. This was done to research the structures of subordinative compound sentence, in the level of the structure and matters relating to the relationship inter its constituent clauses. The data collecting method is record which uses the tapping and note techniques, writing from the literature sources those are books and verses of the Al-Qurâran to obtain data. Among the books are: an-Nachwu al-âArabiy, al-Jumlah al- âArabiyyah, MukawwinÄtuhÄ- AnwÄâuhÄ-TachlÄ«luhÄ, IârÄbu al-Jumal wa AsybÄhu al-Jumal, al-IârÄbu al-Muyassaru, and ar-Rabthu baina al-Jumal fÄ« al-Lughah Al- âArabiyyah Al-MuâÄshirah, at-TathbÄ«q an-NachwÄ«. The Data analysis uses distributional or agih, with techniques : direct element dividing (BUL), marking, reading of marks, disappeared, change, and expanding. There are main points pruduced in this research. First, subordinative clause fills subject, object, and adverbia functions for supraordinative clause with varying clause categories at each function. Second, the two clauses are connected by conjunctions : particles, nouns, pronouns, relative pronouns, compound word, and sentence context. Those conjunctions have syntactic behaviors, have the effect of subjunctive, jusive, accusative, and genitive declinations or iârab, as well as the congruence effect. Third, the subordinative clause only before the supraordinative clause, always behind it, and flexibly, can be in front or behind it. While the subordinative conjunctions are always in front of the subordinative clause and are in front of, middle, and behind it.
