Daftar Isi:
- Research in trees suitability for green belt path in trade and services area of Cirebon City was conducted in May 2012 and aimed for determining the composition and suitability levels of trees species which compose green belt path in trade and services area. Research method used in this paper is trees suitability analysis based on morphological aspects rate. The expected functions of plants as green belt path includes pollutants absorber (CO, NO2, Pb), dust absorber, noise reducer, aesthetic value, shade for road user, windbreaks, and adding cultural/philosophy value to the city which can be used as the city identity. The basis for determining the expected function is approximated by environmental parameters covering noise levels, temperatures, humidities, and traffic densities. The research found there were 27 trees species composing green belt path which dominated by Glodokan Pecut (Polyalthea longifolia) and Bintaro (Cerbera odollam) with encounter frequency 5 times in 6 points of observations. The trees composition in green belt pathis good enough where plants which have ecological functions dominate with 12 species, and plants which have aesthetic values are 7 species. From the analysis, 3 species belong to very suitable category, 16 species belong to suitable category, and 6 species belong to unsuitable category. The development of green belt path can be done by filling the empty path and change over the unsuitable species. Plants with philosophic value can be maintained, if belong to suitable category, for this as the citys identity.
