- This study is intended to analyze whether there is a positive and significant effect of principal supervision and teacher's academic qualification on teacher's competency in teaching and learning process. The approach of this study is a quantitative approach that is based on the paradigm of positivism. The sample of this study consisted of 136 teachers of the 207 teachers in the district of Kopang Central Lombok West Nusa Tenggara with the sampling technique is proportional random sampling. Then the data collection techniques used is conducted by questionnaires, interviews, and literature study. Data analysis method used is multiple linear regression which is analyzed by using SPSS 18.00 The result of this study shows that (1) the principal supervision partially has a positive and significant effect on teacher's competency in teaching and learning process, (2) the teacher�s academic qualification partially has a positive and significant effect on the teacher's competency in teaching and learning process. The findings of this study are also supported by the statements of representative interviewees which drawn from the sample of this study.
