- This thesis entitled \"An Evaluation of Alliance Strategy between PT Pertamina Gas and Trang Bumi Nanggroe Aceh\".PT Pertamina Gas is a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) which has established and engaged in the transportation, commerce and processing. In an effort of development and expansion of business, PT Pertamina gas partnership with state-owned company as the operator of gas or gas sources of authorities. The purpose of this research is to identify processes and economical considerations of PT Pertamina Gas related to Alliance strategy that is carried out as well as analyze potential problems arising from the Alliance strategy and prevention measures. This study uses the SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) analysis and resources or VRIO (Value, Rareness, Imitation, Organization). The research was conducted by qualitative descriptive analysis method. The collection of data obtained based on primary data and secondary data as well as the observations and interviews with the company's management and staff on the various divisions within the company are mainly related to the functioning of the partnership. Based on the analysis by using the VRIO analysis tools, then obtained the results that the company has implications of sustainable competitive advantage, where the company takes a strategic step in order to remain competitive value can keep. This is conducted to keep the quality of the pipes for the processing of value added for the company's competitive advantage, improve good relations with government agencies to cooperate in terms of infrastructure for the development of IPP in Aceh as well as improving synergies with subsidiary Pertamina which is the strength of the company to be able to support the success of the IPP business project that is run with PT Trang Bumi Aceh.
