- Illegal music downloading is one aspect that reduces CD sale. This case happens to every music genre, including K-pop that�s been hitting the trend lately. This research aims to analyze the effect of illegal music downloading intention on one�s intention to buy the licensed CD using Theory of Planned Behavior. This research also seeks what are the influences for someone to do illegal downloading and whether idolatry moderates the relationship between the intention to download music illegally and the intention to buy the licensed CD. Data was gained through questionnaires that were spread to K-pop fans. The result shows that intention to download music illegally significantly reduces one�s intention to buy the licensed CD. Also shown in the result that one�s intention to illegally download music was affected by their attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Idolatry doesn�t show to have moderating effects on relationship between downloading music illegally and buying the licensed CD.
