- The condition of four-wheel vehicle market in the era of free trade area opens opportunities and threats for the automotive industry in the domestic commercial vehicle truck. The government tried to deal with this situation by issuing a variety of policies that support the domestic automotive industry, among others, with free entry tax for Completely Knock Down components. External conditions also affect the company's truck industry, such as growth and economic recovery, social, political and technological. This study analyzes the business strategy of PT. Hino Motors Manufacturing Indonesia to increase vehicle sales FM260JD dump truck. In this research using descriptive analysis of the design research studies that describe the business strategy of PT. HMMI in a given period (2005-2010). The sample is determined from the study population of 10 people consisting of managers, supervisors, staff and other sources who know the business vehicle FM260JD dump truck. The theory is taken as the basic business strategy begins with the analysis of external and internal environment. Therefore this study aims to determine the condition of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that may be determined appropriate alternative business strategies to achieve corporate objectives. The strategy has carried the company is maintaining the quality, the best business partner for customers, always providing the best service and concern for customers. Then the research process the primary data and secondary data to find the formulation of measures to be taken the company in anticipation of changes in market conditions. As a basic framework of analysis uses the basic framework of strategic management process by using SWOT analysis method that includes EFE Matrix (External Factors Evaluation) is a factor of opportunities and threats, and IFE (Internal Factors Evaluation) as a factor of strength and weakness. SWOT matrix is used to develop the existing strategies. While the matrix IE (Internal External) is used to determine the company's position in the automotive industry. The results show that the strategy of market development is done by maintaining market share FM260JD dump truck that already exist, establish good relationships with old customers, expand market access and maintain product quality.
