- Semiring is a generalization of ring. Some of the concepts in rings can be developed in semirings. In this paper, we discussed the properties of ideals in semirings, quotient semirings, homomorphisms of semirings, maximal homomorphisms, semiring of fractions, and local semirings. Furthermore, a Fundamental Theorem of Homomorphisms and the localization for rings is developed into semirings.
