- As a vehicle for medical emergencies transportation, an ambulance have higheest priority at the road use. The Quickbird imagery with a higher spatial resolution considered quite sufficient to identify the road geometry. Quickbird imagery data colleting and network analysis with geographic information systems can be used to determine an alternate route for the ambulance to avoid traffic jam. Road geometry data collecting by Quickbird imagery carried out with visually interpretation with ArcGIS assisted method, and the data obtained is used as a reference in the analysis. Network analysis is used to determine an alternate route for the ambulance using variable road levels of service (LoS) as the main parameter.This research result noted that the Quickbird imagery still sufficient to obatained road geometry information. Network analysis approach can be used to identify and analyze alternative route for the ambulance to avoid traffic jams. However, in cases where roads with very low level of service on destination area, network analyst can only narrow the gap inefficiency ambulance travel time.
