- The research was aimed to evaluate the yield potency, fruit quality and shelf life of six promising lines of irradiation Co-60 gamma ray mutant tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum L.) in low land. The promising line of M9 generation of tomatoes ((G20 1/13/25/28/16/13 (G2), G20 1/13/25/26/24/11 (G4), G40 2/19/9/19/12/13 (G6), G40 2/15/23/22/13/13 (G7), G60 3/9/12/34/12/14 (G8), and G60 3/15/15/1/13/6 (G9)) include control �Intan� and compared variety �Fortuna� (F1 hybrid) were planted in Completely Randomized Block Design with four blocks as replications in 95% signification. The research was conducted at Kebun Pendidikan, Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pertanian Kalitirto, Berbah, Sleman (KP4-UGM) and the measurements continued at Laboratorium Hortikultura, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Gadjah Mada in May 2012 until September 2012. The results showed that cultivation of six promising lines and �Intan� had a total fruit quantity and total fruit weight per plant higher than �Fortuna�. The promising line G20 1/13/25/26/24/11 (G4) produced a long pieces, diameter, fruit weight per item, fruit volume better than �Fortuna� and �Intan�. The promising line of M9 produced same amount of vitamin C as �Fortuna� and �Intan�. The promising line G40 2/19/9/19/12/13 (G6) produced higher titrated acid content than �Fortuna� and �Intan� G60 3/9/12/34/12/14 (G8) produced higher total dissolved solid higher than �Intan� and �Fortuna�. The fruit shape of six promising lines were apple shape and the fruit color were bright red, dark red and orange red. The promising lines G20 1/13/25/28/16/13 (G2), G40 2/19/9/19/12/13 (G6), G60 3/9/12/34/12/14 (G8) and G60 3/15/15/1/13/6 (G9) had the same fruit ripening time with �Intan� but faster than �Fortuna�, six promising lines had the same shelf life as �Intan� but faster than �Fortuna�.
