Daftar Isi:
- Based on the fact that public facility could mediate the dispersion of contagious disease, the study on the density and diversity of bacteria on microfon surface was carried out. The sampling conducted at 3 different places music studio in Yogyakarta using the swab method on the surface of the head and stick of the microphone. The density of bacteria was determination by using the Standard Plate Count expressed in cfu/cm2. Isolation and purification of each colony. Its different colony was isolated and purificated by streak plate and spread plate method. Characterization included colony and cell morphology, staining and biochemical tests and identification using by the method of profile matching (generic assignment). The results of the study showed that bacterial density was 3.12x108 cfu/cm2 on the surface of the microphone head and 0.34x108 cfu/cm2 on the stick of the microphone. Based on characterization of colonial and cell morphology, staining, and biochemical test, the 11 isolates were identified to be member of seven genera. Four isolates (G2S1, G2S3, G2S4, G3S2) to be member of the genus Lactobacillus, Listeria (G3S1) Staphylococcus (G1S5), Legionella (G1S4), Dermabacter (G1S3), Corynebacterium (G1S2), and Bacillus (G1S1, G2S2). It can be concluded that the mean density on the surface of the microphone either on the head or stick at the 3 music studios in Yogyakarta was relatively high. Thefore it could be that as public facilities the music studio could act as a media dispersion of bacteria let alone 4 genera among which could contain pathogenic strains, those are Listeria, Staphylococcus, Legionella, dan Corynebacterium.
