- Background : Problem Solving for Better Hospital (PSBH) is a method that implemented in RSUP Dr. Sardjito for quality improvement activity. There were problem solver that did not impelement PSBH in their workplace well. Motivation is important so problem solver would be expected to work hard and enthusiastically to achieve high productivity. People with high emotional quotient can involve with problems and other, have responsibility and high commitment in their work. Objective : To know the relationship between emotional quotient and work motivation of problem solver in the implementation of quality improvement activity with PSBH Method : This study was quantitative research and descriptive correlational, with cross sectional design. The sample were 46 problem solver. Samples in this study was taken by purposive sampling and quota sampling to determine the the representation each profession. The instruments used Trait Emotional Questionnaire-Short Form (TEIQ-SF) dan Work Prefence Inventory (WPI) Working Adult Version. Result : Statistical test result showed that in majority the level emotional quotient of the problem solvers was in high category (76,1%), high work motivation in both intrinsic motivation (56,5%) and ekstrinsic motivation (63,0%). The calculation result of relationship between emotional quotient showed that p = 0,533 and r = 0,094, so it can be conclude that there was no correlation between emotional quotient and work motivation of problem solver in the implementation of quality improvement activity wit PSBH. Conclusion : There was no correlation between emotional quotient and work motivation of problem solver in the implementation of quality improvement activity with PSBH
