- This study aims to determine the density of vegetation and the extensive existing in watershed Garang and needed to know the extent of vegetation in the watershed so as not to flood Garang. The primary data sources used were obtained from the transformation of the image of ALOS AVNIR 2 and field surveys. Remote sensing methods used in determining the runoff coefficient as input to the calculation of the discharge basin rational method of Cook. runoff coefficient obtained from the density of vegetation by NDVI image transformation ALOS AVNIR-2. In addition to the input runoff coefficient, rational method also uses parameters such as the intensity of daily rainfall Mononobe. Debit rational calculation results are then compared with existing river discharge. Wanted discharge values lower than streamflow. Area vegetation existing watershed Garang is 12924.6 ha (59.7%), consisting of 3455.7 ha (15.9%) low-density vegetation, 4137.7 ha (19.1%) being the density of vegetation, 4352.4 Ha (20 , 1%) and high density vegetation, 978.6 ha (4.5%) low density vegetation. The addition of extensive vegetation 20.3% to 100% density in the watershed Garang may reduce the value of the flow coefficient of 0.204, from 0.762 to 0.558 initially. The addition of extensive vegetation 20.3% to 100% density in the watershed Garang may reduce the value of the actual streamflow 391.894 m / sec, a 287.146 m / sec, a decline in the value of 104.748 m debit / sec.
