  • The purpose of this research is to examine the accuracy level of the Quickbird satellite imagery interpretation in determining the variables which affecting fire hazard, and obtain mapping of fire hazard level using Quickbird satellite imagery and Geographic Information System (GIS) in parts of Surakarta municipality. taken from the The source of primary data used in mapping the fire hazard level is interpretation of Quickbird satellite imagery and on-site survey. The methods used in mapping the fire hazard level are by determine the variables of density, layout and dimension, building material quality, access road, fire hydrant availability and the distance to the nearest Fire Department. GIS is used to obtain the fire hazard level using the weighted overlay method. , The research shows a value of 90.8% for the accuracy of interpretation of Quickbird satellite imagery, resulting in 5 fire hazard levels which are Level I (non-hazard) with area of 16,88 ha
