  • In this time flow measurement using pressure difference such as orifice, nozzle, and venturi , a lot of industries use it to measure flow rate in pipe. This method cause changes of flow condition because of change of flow profile in pipe, hence cause the loss such as pressure drop. To solve this problem needed flow measurement to measure flow without change the flow profile, that is ultrasonic flow meter. Ultrasonic technology applicable to measure flow rate of fluid on open or closed duct, to measure gas and liquid flow rate in various condition. This method easier to install, easier to move, and not cause flow losses. This research use water and gas as fluid. The pipe that use in this research is transparent acrylic pipe with inner diameter 18 mm and outer diameter 28 mm, the purpose using transparent pipe so that the characteristic of flow can be monitored. Function generator use to generate wave ultrasonic frequency that connected to transmitter, after that the transmitted signal will be receive by receiver that connected to digital oscilloscope. In this research will analyzing the value of amplitude that generate from the effect of changes of water and gas flow rate in slug flow. The research result show that changes in flow rate in slug flow will effects to amplitude value, when flow rate of water increase so that the amplitude value will decrease, the amplitude value also decrease when the flow rate of gas is increasing.
