- Breast-milk is verry important for phisycal development of child. Nowadays, breastfeeding issue has developed as a crucial problem. Breastfeeeding has become an indicator for Millenium Development Goals. Government try to reach specific standard in breastfeeding ratio by applying a lot of regulation and other effort. Surakarta city is one of a big city that the ratio of breast feeding is still low. Right policy related breastfeeding is needed to increase the breastfeeding ratio in Surakarta. Its need collaboration between government, non profit organization, and private sector to increase breastfeeding ratio in Surakarta city.In this research, collaboration between government, non profit otganization and private organization is called as public private partnership. The aim of this research is todescribe the pattern of partnership between government, non profit organization, and private sectorin order to increase breastfeeding ratio in Surakarta city. This research uses qualitative method with a case study approach. Breast feeding ratio which still low in Surakarta city was selected as a focus of the research due to its complexity of relationship among the actors comprising government, private sector, and non profit organization. The research reveals that partnership pattern in the case of the effort three sector to increase breastfeeding ratio in Surakarta is a mutualistic partnership. every actor get benefit from the partnership although the increasing of breastfeeding ratio has not increase significant. From the network perspective, the relation among the actors is tend to limited. To increase breastfeeding ratio in Surakarta city, its needed more action and more actor that can collaborate effectively. One of effeort can be done is by local campaign about the importance of breastfeeding.
