- This research titled â��Feminism in the Novel RÃaves de Femmes: Une Enfance Au Harem by Fatima Mernissi an Analysis of Roland Barthes Five Codes Systemâ��. The material object of this research is worked by Fatima Mernissi, the writer who came from Morocco, North Africa. In 2003, RÃaves de Femmes: Une Enfance Au Harem escorted her to win Prince of Austria award. The novel tells about the struggle of women who lives in a harem and hopes to get the equality in the entitlement. The study maintains on the aspect of feminism with the semiotic approach. The theory used in this research is semiotic theory proposed by Roland Barthes using Roland Barthes five systems codes: they are the proairetic code or action code, the semic code, the hermeneutic code, the symbolic code and the cultural code. The purpose of this research are to identify and represent elements of feminism, in addition, this research aims to express the role of feminism in this novel. Finally, the result of this research showed that \"RÃaves de Femmes: Une Enfance Au Harem\" contains some elements of liberal feminism and the role of feminism in the novel.
