- Situ Gintung is an artificial lake in Ciputat Timur region, which has two inlets, both of them are from domestic canal and has an outlet to Kali Pesanggrahan. The water intake that come from domestic canal bring some pollutions, and their impact for water purposes. The purposes of this research is to know the water quality of Situ Gintung, to know the characteristics of domestic waste, and to identify the influence of domestic waste to fishery so that can be defined the water suitability utilization of Situ Gintung. This research use field survey method, which takes data directly from field survey. This research use stratified sampling method which take water sample in each depth stratum at surface and bottom for inlet, center, and outlet Situ Gintung. Parameter thar is analyzed are physical parameter (temperature, brightness, TDS), chemical parameter (pH, BOD, COD, DO, Amonia, Phosphat), and biological parameter (Total Coliform). Sampling of domestic waste and measuring water flow is also done to know the characteristic of domestic waste that flow into Situ Gintung. The result of the water quality analysis from laboratory is compared by water quality standard using PP No.82 2001 so that can be defined the suitability utilization of Situ Gintung water. The result of this research is the water quality of Situ Gintung at western inlet is better than eastern inlet, center and outlet, water quality of Situ Gintung doesn�t meet for water quality standard class I for drinking water, but it has eligibility for standard water quality class II for fishery especially at point 4 (western inlet). The influence of domestic waste which has low DO content also high amonia, phosphat, and TDS content make Situ Gintung doesn�t meet for fishery activities.
