  • In process of producing ZA fertilizer, PT Petrokimia Gresik produce a byproduct of compound mix with main content of lime compound (CaCO3) in huge amount every year. This byproduct has not been able to use optimally and will be produced continuously so it may pollute environment. Objective of this research was to identify shape and spectrum of toxic effect of the oral administration of the product for 90 days in test animal from hematology, urine and histopathologic parameters. This research used explorative experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. It used 80 rat (40 male and 40 female) of SD strain divided into four groups, each of 20 rat (10 male and 10 female) (20, 60 180 mg/kg bw and control). Observation was done on toxic symptom, PKBP, food and during intake during test preparation administration for 90 days, hematological parameter (erythrocyte, leukocyte, platelet, Hb, HCT, MCV, MCH and MCHC) and urine (color, odor, volume and pH) before and after administration for 90 days and histopathologic parameter (liver, kidney, spleen, lungs) after administration for 90 days. Results indicated that administration of test substance on all groups induce clinical symptom of passive and weak. In quantitative term, test preparation did not influence PKBP, food and drink intake, and hematology parameter. In qualitative term, the test preparation did not influence urine parameter and histopathology of liver, kidney, spleen and lungs.
