- The quality of relationship between parents and children is the most important thing in the process of parenting, particularly children who are entering to the stage between childhood and adulthood. This research objective is to find out the influence of Parent Effectiveness Training to the quality of relationship between parents and adolescents. The research participants were 18 children of grade VII. The participants were divided into control group (9 subjects) and experiment group (9 subjects). The hypothesis of research was there was a different alternation in improving appraisal toward effective parenting to children whose parents got �Parent Effectiveness Training� (experiment group) to control group whose parents did not get the training. The method of the research was the untreated control group with pretest-posttest design. The result of the statistical test using mixed anava showed the F value was 24.2010 (p<0.01) that meant there was interaction between time (pre-post) and the groups (controlexperiment). The interaction revealed that there was significantly difference on alternation pre-test score towards post-test on both groups. The alternation of the children appraisal towards the attitude of effective parenting on experiment group after getting training was significant (MD-28.556
