  • Earthquake that happened in Yogyakarta in 2006 has made some of the temples cracks that result gaps between rocks in Shiva Prambanan temple. Fractures or cracks in the stone structure causes the space between the temple structure that would lead to instability in temple structure itself that in a critical condition can lead to the collapse of the temple structure, especially when there are disturbances like earthquakes happen again. lime This research aims to obtain data characteristics of mortar that can be applied as a gap filler between the rocks on the Prambanan Shiva Temple. This research used sand, , red cement, and portland pozolan cement as a constituent material of mortar with comparison 1,5:1:1:0,25. Mortar cube-shaped specimen with the size of 5cm Ã 5cm Ã 5cm in 8 variations with 8 sample for each variation. The research began with checking the characteristics of constituent materials before making mortar mixture. The viscosity value of mortar mixing liquid was checked before molded. When removing mortar from the mold to implemented concrete maintenance, the specimen dimensions was checked as a basic check of shrinkage mortar. Testing of compressive strength, shrinkage, unit weight, and water uptake mortar was implemented when specimens at 28 days old. 0% The resuls showed that the percentage of water and cement usage affect the characteristics of mortar. Mortar in cement with 4 of water has the highest compressive strength 4,085 MPa in average, the smallest water absorption is 15,04% for 24 hours, the smallest shrinkage is 0,9%, and has an average flow time is 30,54 seconds. Mortar without cement with 60% of water has the smallest compressive strength 1,17 MPa, the largest water absorption is 22,8% for 24 hours, the largest shrinkage is 1,6%, and the flow time is 12 seconds. Mortar in this research has the characteristics below the standard value of usual mortar
