Daftar Isi:
- The objective of this research was to study the effect of soil salinity and type of fertilizer toward diversity and methane-oxidation potential of denitrifyingmethanotrophic consortia. Diversity of denitrifying-methanotrophic consortia was analyzed by uncultured-dependent method by PCR-DGGE and 16S rRNA sequencing, also by culture-dependent method by selective isolation at nitrate mineral salts (NMS) medium. Type of plant growing medium, type of fertilizer, and degree of soil salinity had impact on methane-oxidation and methane-production potential. The compost, as plant growing medium, and NPK, as fertilizer, had stimulating effect on methane-oxidation potential of denitrifying-methanotrophic consortia, whereas soil salinity had inhibiting effect on methane-oxidation potential of denitrifyingmethanotrophic consortia. Degree of salinity had lower impact to diversity of denitrifying-methanotrophic consortia than which of fertilizer and plant growing type.
