- Wound healing is a process where damaged tissue is restored as much as possible to normal state and the most complex processes in the human physiological. In the body, the growth of new blood vessels is useful to supply oxygen, nutrients, and cells of inflammation called angiogenesis. The aim of this research was to know the influence of application peel mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) extract gel in the wound healing process of gingival Rattus norvegicus rats. This study was conducted to 27 male Rattus norvegicus rats aged 3 months with weight 200-250 grams. The rats were divided into three groups : positive control group (Aloclair gel), treatment group (40% peel mangosteen extract gel), and negative control group (CMC-Na 2%). All rats in three groups were injured at lower centralis incisor labial gingival with 2,5 mm diameter of punch biopsy and then applied twice a day, every morning and afternoon for 14 days after that its made to the histological samples using hematoxylin eosin staining. Angiogenesis was measured by counting the number of blood vessels under the light microscope 400 times magnification in 3 fields of view. The result then analyzed by two-way ANOVA and post hoc LSD (Least Significant Difference) test. The result with two-way ANOVA test (significance<0,05) show that there was a significant difference between treatment time, between treatment also between treatment and treatment time to the number of blood vessels. The conclusion of this research was application peel mangosteen extract gel induces angiogenesis in the wound healing process of gingival Rattus norvegicus rats
