  • The research problem is the change in landuse in the area of Jalan Kaliurang km 4.5-5.8 affects the changes in physical spatial condition that has an impact on the rising of region air temperature and makes it not having thermal comfort. Using simulative-experimental method to examine data from site and modification outcome with the help of ENVI-met 3.1 software for answering the research questions. Simulation conducted on urban street canyon variable elements, which are the addition of a height of 30m in buildings that make up the canyon on the sub-variable ratio of building height and width of a street / urban street canyon (H/W), the use of material such as white concrete pavement that have 80% albedo in the sub-variable of surface material, vegetation plating in groups with the distance as wide as the diameter between vegetation canopy to sub-variable of vegetation and a combination between the three. The result shows that the site has thermal discomfort either based on field survey or software running of existing data due to the dominance of building height to street width ratio (H/W) which produce less than half of the value (H/W<0.5) and 0.5<H/W<1, surface material such as concrete pavement and natural surface that hold the albedo of less than 50%, and also the lack of vegetation in urban street canyon with single cropping pattern. Result also shows that no modification is able to enter the comfortable range from SNI T14-1993-03 standard. Optimal value generated by the combined modification
